Just As Just as three nails pierced the hands of our savior to save the world, Three nails pulled out of a board saved a family in New Orleans a lot of money. Just as rope held our savior on the cross and showed love, Rope helped us clean up and show God’s love to a hurting city. Just as wood supported our savior who suffered for us and giving us a brand new hope, Wood cleared out of a neighborhood restored the hope of a New Orleans community. Just as our savior’s life was to tell the good news, Our lives are to be spent building relationships and sharing God’s grace and love to others. Restoring Hope in New Orleans, LA Spring Break 2007 “Finally, all of you should be of one mind, full of sympathy toward each other, loving one another with tender hearts and humble minds.” 1Peter 3:8 As I was thinking about this trip I was searching for my purpose of going and being in New Orleans, LA. I reflected on all that we did and how much of an impact we made on one community and wrote this poem. This sums up the whole trip and its meaning to me. I never knew how much cleaning up a neighbor's yard would make a difference. Well, I really enjoyed my trip and it was a true blessing. |
